Why convert TIFF to EPS?
Scanners and print workflows love TIFF, but Chrome, Edge and Firefox can't show it and email chokes on the size. Some printers, sign makers and embroidery shops still ask for EPS, and an EPS with your image inside gets it accepted.
TIFF vs EPS
| TIFF | EPS | |
|---|---|---|
| Full name | Tagged Image File Format | Encapsulated PostScript |
| Type | Raster (pixels) | Vector |
| Compression | Lossless | Lossless |
| Transparency | Yes | No |
| Animation | No | No |
| Opens in | Safari, desktop and print software; not Chrome, Edge or Firefox | Design and print software only |
| File size | Very large | Medium |
| Best for | Print, scanning, archiving | Print-ready logos, legacy design files |
- Your image is embedded inside the EPS file as pixels, not traced into shapes. It opens anywhere EPS is accepted, but it won't become editable paths.
- EPS has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
- Only the first page of a multi-page TIFF is converted, and a TIFF with 16 bits per channel is saved at 8 bits.

TIFF to EPS, answered
All FAQsIs my TIFF file uploaded to convert it?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, on your own device. Your TIFF file is not uploaded, and no account is needed.
Will converting TIFF to EPS reduce quality?
No pixels are lost: your image is embedded in the EPS as it is. It is not turned into vector shapes, so it won't scale up without blur. Transparent areas become white, because EPS has no transparency. A TIFF with 16 bits per channel is saved at 8 bits.
What's the difference between TIFF and EPS?
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a lossless raster format mostly used for print, scanning and archiving. EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is lossless, has no transparency, and is mostly used for print-ready logos and legacy design files.
Can I convert many TIFF files at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 TIFF files at a time. They are converted one after another in your browser, and Download all saves each EPS as its own file.
