This Privacy Policy describes how Filo ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use our image converter, PDF, and document tools on Android and iOS, and when you visit filodocs.app.
1. Your files stay on your device
All file processing — image conversion, PDF merging, splitting, compression, passport photos, and every other tool — happens entirely on your device. Your photos, PDFs, and documents are never uploaded to our servers or any third party. We cannot see, access, or store the content of your files.
2. Information we collect
While your files remain private, the App and this website use third-party services for advertising and analytics that may collect limited data:
- Usage analytics — anonymized data such as which features are used, session length, crash reports, device model, operating system version, and general region.
- Website analytics — filodocs.app uses Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about visits to this website.
- Advertising data — our advertising partners may collect device identifiers, IP address, and coarse location to serve and measure ads.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, or the content of any file you process.
3. Third-party services
The App and this website use third-party services with their own privacy policies, including advertising networks and analytics providers.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process data on the following legal bases: consent (personalized advertising, and on iOS, App Tracking Transparency), and legitimate interests (non-personalized ads, crash reporting, aggregated usage analytics).

You can limit ad personalization at any time via your device's settings. Where required by law, the App asks for consent before showing personalized ads.
6. Data retention
We retain aggregated analytics data only as long as needed to improve the App. We do not operate accounts, so we hold no personal profile that can be retrieved or deleted on request.
7. International data transfers
Our advertising and analytics providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including the United States, under approved safeguards.
8. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Because your files never leave your device, the most sensitive data is protected by design. Analytics and advertising data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption.
