Why convert SVG to GIF?
SVG is perfect on the web, but many upload forms, Office apps and social sites won't accept it. GIF works in every chat app and email client, which is still the simplest way to share a small graphic.

- SVG is a vector format, so it is drawn as pixels during the conversion. The GIF has a fixed size and won't scale up without blur.
- The SVG is drawn with its longer side at 2048 pixels, or at its own size if that is larger. Fonts and images it links to by URL are not loaded.
- SVG animations are not kept: the result is a still image.
- GIF can show only 256 colours, so photos may look banded or grainy. It suits simple graphics best.
- GIF transparency is on or off for each pixel, so soft, semi-transparent edges become hard.

SVG to GIF, answered
All FAQsIs my SVG file uploaded to convert it?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, on your own device. Your SVG file is not uploaded, and no account is needed.
Will converting SVG to GIF reduce quality?
The SVG is drawn as pixels, so the GIF has a fixed size and won't stay sharp if you enlarge it.
What's the difference between SVG and GIF?
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a lossless vector format mostly used for logos, icons and illustrations. GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) is lossless but limited to 256 colours, supports transparency, and is mostly used for short animations and simple graphics.
Can I convert many SVG files at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 SVG files at a time. They are converted one after another in your browser, and Download all saves each GIF as its own file.
